Baltimore Ave. Dollar Stroll, New Hours

30 Aug

We have new hours for September: Mondays 1 – 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays, Noon to 7 p.m., Wednesdays Noon – 3:30 p.m., Thursdays and Saturdays, Noon to 7, and Sundays Noon to 5. We’re  working on lining up volunteers to bring a bit more order to the schedule, so it might make sense to call first. 215.662.5780

We will be tabling at the Dollar Stroll, Thursday, Sept. 18 (5:30 to 8:30 p.m.), with a variety of specially discounted children’s and adult books. Mark your calendars!

New Greeting Cards

28 Aug

In the past couple of weeks we have gotten large shipments of greeting cards in. Our Nikki McClure card selection is now as robust as it has ever been, with pretty much every design that’s in print. We’ve also added several cards by Shreya Shah. And of course we still have box sets, etc…

In addition to our regular Saturday hours at the store, Bindlestiff will be tabling at the Philadelphia Anarchist Bookfair Saturday, August 23.

There will be presentations, a movie night Friday and music Saturday, and a wide variety of organizations tabling, including A Boulder on the Tracks, AK Press, Anarcho-Syndicalist Review, Black and Green Press, Books & Beets, Cal Press, Educating for Action & The Terrorization of Dissent, LAVA, Lehigh Valley IWW, Little Black Cart, Marcellus Shale Earth First!, Metropolarity, Negate City, Not Applicable Distro, NYC Anarchist Black Cross, patrokolos projects, Re-acción libre, Red Emma’s Books (Baltimore), and Wooden Shoe Books.

late Summer hours

11 Aug

What with vacations, new jobs, resumption of classes, and a slower-than-anticipated process of bringing new volunteers into the schedule, we’re having some trouble covering weekday closing shifts for the next few weeks. So it might make sense to call first (215.662.5780) if you’re coming by after 3:30.

We are open every day at Noon (except Monday, when we open at 1, and close at 6). Closing times are up in the air for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We will certainly be open later than 3:30 much of the time (and hopefully all the way to our regular closing time at 7 on those days), but not all.

Coverage on Saturdays (Noon – 7), Sundays (Noon – 5), and Mondays (1 – 6), remains solid. But we will be closed on Labor Day.

If you have some free time, especially on weekdays, we could use a couple more volunteers.
